Swahili works directly with artisans in Kenya and South Africa to create stylish contemporary beaded gifts and home decor. From key chains to candle holders to bracelets to dolls, our collection of African beadwork extols the crafting traditions of Maasai, Samburu, Zulu, Xhosa, Ndebele and Sotho peoples of Kenya, South Africa and Swaziland. Swahili's line of fairly-traded African beadwork has created many employment opportunities in impoverished and underdeveloped regions as well as developing networking opportunities such as Beads for Conservation, which aids the Masaii women in uniting to more easily find buyers of their products.
