Our African Sunset soapdish is hand carved from soapstone by Gusii artisans in Kisii Town, Kenya, then hand painted and etched by artisans in Nairobi. Since the synthetic dyes used are not water-safe, we recommend spraying your soap dish with a coat of clear lacquer if you plan to use it near water.
