Ghanaian artisans in Kumasi, the heart of the Asante kingdom, hand carve these stylishly minimalistic stools from the wood of cedrela trees, a fast-growing plantation species.
The form is styled after the renowned Golden Stool of the Asantes, but a simple central circle replaces the more typical Adinkra symbol.
Each stool is stained with a rich dark brown stain. Shapes will vary slightly.
