Artisans in the Bolgatanga region of Ghana weave this smaller version of our beautiful and durable Bolga basket from thick, tough elephant grass. A popular choice among green shoppers, errand runners, and picnic planners worldwide, Bolga baskets stand up to use and abuse and remain functional and beautiful for years.

Sold singly. Because this is a handcrafted item, each will vary slightly.

NOTE: We ship Bolga baskets in two ways. We can fit more FLATTENED baskets into a box, saving you on shipping costs. Or, we can SHAPE your baskets before they ship. If you do not indicate during checkout that you wish for us to SHAPE your baskets, they will arrive flattened. You can shape your basket by wetting the straw and shaping the basket with your hands, then allowing it to dry.

Shaping Bolga Baskets

Bolga baskets ship flattened to save you money on shipping! Four to five compressed baskets take up the same amount of shipping space as a single shaped basket. 

We'll send basket shaping instructions in the box along with your order. Shaping your baskets is simple. Spray the basket lightly with cool water, focusing on any creased areas. Allow the water to absorb into the fibers for a few minutes, then press the basket into shape. Air dry and you're all done!

Bolga baskets can be reshaped any time it's needed.
