Kwanzaa is a week-long African-American holiday celebrating African heritage and ideals. The kinara candleholder--Mishumaa Saba--is one symbol of the seven-day holiday, held from December 26 through January 1. The kinara's seven candleholders represent the Nguzo Saba, or seven principals, of African heritage.

Each kinara is handcrafted from recycled metal by talented Kenyan artisans, and the figures holding hands exemplify Kwanzaa's first principal of unity. Candles are not included.
