Utilizing empty space in large baskets for smart shipping

We know shipping large hampers can feel expensive, and rising fuel surcharges don’t help. Since shipping costs are based heavily on box size, the smartest way to keep charges in balance with your order is to fill the empty space inside big baskets.

Adding extra hampers doesn’t solve the problem—most can’t be nested, so you just end up with more oversized boxes full of air. A better approach is to add smaller baskets, like lidded styles, sisal bins, or grain bowls, which fit neatly inside and still let you indulge your love of baskets. You can also fill space with soapstone, jewelry, salad servers, small metal art and more.

Just be sure the diameters work with the hamper you’re filling. While packing in too many small, heavy items can tip costs upward by weight, our fulfillment team is great at finding the perfect balance, so your order ships safely and efficiently—and you get the best value for your purchase.
